MENTAL CHECK FOR YOUNG MINDS- SO, WHAT'S THE CREDIBILITY OF AWARDS TODAY?

Awards used to be given to people who make remarkable strides.

People used to get nominated based on the impact of their work/effort.

These days, awards are more like elections.
Nominees rally around to get people to vote for them.
The person with the highest vote is sometimes seen as the one that won, that is if the organizers don't "arrange" with someone else to win.

The problem is that most of the people that vote have not had the person's work impact their lives. They do it just out of favour or just because a friend asked them to.

So, of what value are the awards people receive today?

Awards everywhere yet not much impact in lives.

Of what worth is that award on your shelf?
It makes you feel good?
It ought to have come out of the impact you have made as endorsed by people who feel it.

Your rallying around to get nominated and voted for all seemingly boil down to you self-awarding yourself.

Soon, people will organise programs, call people to come, make their own award plaques and award themselves.

All I am saying is this, let's focus more on impacting lives than running around acquiring plaques.
If we need to award people, let's do it right. The current system of election as awards need to give way.
If we can't do it right, let's focus on making life right for people here on earth.

It is far better to be rewarded for your good deeds by God or by the people who truly feel the impact of your work than to aim for awards and do "anything" just to take the plaque home.

We need people that can change the direction of our generation for good. We have had too many things go wrong and it is wrong to continue in that which is wrong.
